NVIDIA Shield Tablet Vs Nexus 7 – Requirements, Release Date and Price Comparability


Nexus 7 vs NVIDIA SHIELD

As you guys know, "NVIDIA" recently released its brand-new SHIELD tablet in two versions: the LTE and the Wi-Fi only. The company manufactured this tablet as a full on gaming tablet and they promise that this gaming experience is one over the top, which resembles PC experience. Today we chose to compare this tablet with Google’s unique tablet, the Nexus (7) 2013. Keep reading to know about what differences are involving these tablets and which one would be the best for you.

Display, Exterior and Size

NVIDIA SHIELD product is equipped wih a great IPS LCD screen that measures 8 inches which can render some sort of screen resolution involving 1920 x 1200 pixels. And for the design, NVIDIA gives its tablet a top grain polycarbonate exterior case that features a matte finish. As for the sides, we can see furrowed edges which provide the handset a very interesting look. This tablet is 9.2 mm thick also it weighs 390 grms.
As Google Nexus 7 comes with an IPS LCD display too, but this one measures only 7 inches screen. Even though it offers a smaller display-screen, the screen resolution still sits on 1920x1200 pixels – identical to the SHIELD tablet. Regarding design, we can identify that Google made guaranteed its tablet got a black remove of glass for the sides and a new rubberized exterior case. This device is as well thinner (thickness: 8. 65 mm) and lighter (weight: 299 grams) than "NVIDIA SHIELD."

e OS NVDIA SHIELD runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Processor that properties the Nexus 7 is a Krait: quad core working at 1. 5 GHz paired up using the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset from Qualcomm. Regarding "RAM & ROM", we can see exactly the same specs here (meaning two GB of "RAM", 16 GB/32 GB of ROM) but no option for memory expansion. The operating system the Google Nexus 7 works on is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, It being a Nexus device you are usually always the first to get the latest version of Android, currently 4.4.4 KitKat

Camera and Battery

About the primary camera, both devices showoff a 5 Megapixels camera with similar functions (they don’t carry flash). As the secondary camera, NVIDIA taken something interesting, giving the same kind of camera (5 MP) from the front of the tablet, while the Nexus 7 comes with a 1. 2 MP.

As far we concern the battery unit seen for the SHIELD device overpowers one seen on the particular Nexus 7 undoubtedly (SHIELD battery volume: 5197 mAh; Nexus 7 battery capacity: 3950 mAh).

Price

If you guys are thinking to get the NVIDIA SHIELD tablet. So, you will get the 16 GB variant at the cost of $299. If you’re more interested in Google Nexus 7, the 16 GB version of the tablet costs only $208.

  2. I really think the NVIDIA Shield Tablet ils much better than the nexus 7 : On this tablet you can play real PC games !... The processor is really Nice, the touchscreen too, so I personnaly think the NVIDIA Shield is the best tablet of the world for now...

    1. Yeah, I'm totally agreed with you @Anonymous, NVIDIA Shiled Tablet is really impressive piece of art. You can easily play PC and High Graphics games with a Wireless Controller as well.

  3. There's no doubt shield is way better than Nexus. I mean, the Google's tablet is still nice but it's not so new anymore so no wonder that NVidia took the 1st place when it comes to gaimng tablets. However, big advantage of Shiled is SD-card port which Nexus doesn't have for some ununderstandable reason.
