Tutorial: install apps from SD card on Windows Phone 8

With the arrival of Windows Phone 8 and arrived several functionalists including support for SD cards in terminals were added. Thus, we can use this storage to store pictures, videos, documents, and even application installation files. Therefore, it will be possible for you to install applications using this storage without taking up space in the terminal with that file. Do you want to know what are the steps?
Store apps for Windows 8
This time we'll talk about a feature that was built for Windows Phone 8, and we can come in handy on several occasions, how is the ability to install apps from SD card of your phone. Of course, only applies to this version of the operating system since Windows Phone 7 support does not carry such a card, and those terminals that support these cards.
The truth is that although it is a method I knew for some time, has been thanks to a comment from a reader (Javi) who suggested this method to install Halo: Spartan Assault that I remembered and thought for all to comment you knew.

Why use this method?

Of course, installing applications from the Windows Phone Store is a simple and convenient task. But there are certain times when using this method we can simplify. I commented several examples:
  • They want to install a large application, and do not have much space on the phone . Normal installation will use the space to store your file download while installing store. If we use the SD card for installation, the space will not be busy on the phone, so leave more free space to install the desired application.
  • Installing an application on a phone without using data . Thus, there may be a situation where you want to install an application but do not want to spend moving (or not have them) data, and we have no Wi-Fi. May be rare, but can occur.
  • Install the same application on different terminals . Why I go to download an application several times if I'm going to install on several phones Windows Phone 8? You can copy your credit card (if available) and avoid those multiple downloads.

Step 1: download the application

The first step is to get hold of the XAP file type of the application to install. For this we go to the Windows Phone Store from the Web, and seek the desired application. Once on the page, we move to the bottom, and left find download and install manually . Clicking on that link will proceed to download the file.

Step 2: Copy the file to your

The most convenient option is copy the XAP file to the SD card on your own computer and then insert it into the phone. But there are some models that remove the card, almost half phone must be removed, so we can do it another way, copying the file by connecting the phone.

So, we connect to your computer via the data cable, and we move to the unit named SD card . Copy the file to the root directory and, once completed, we can disconnect it.

Step 3: install applications

In this step, you can choose which applications you have on the SD card for installation . To do this, we'll go to the Windows Phone app store, and we should see a new entry: SD card . If you've got the SD card with the file copied from the computer should appear at the time. If you have followed the second method, it is possible that you may have to restart the phone, to sweep the contents of the SD card is done and so recognized.

You clicking on the option of SD card , you will see the list of applications that are stored on the card and are compatible with the terminal and therefore can be installed. You can select one or more, and proceed to install normally.
